The UTME mock serves as a preliminary test administered by JAMB annually for individuals gearing up for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Interested candidates indicated their desire to partake in the mock exam during the initial phase of UTME registration. Scheduled for Thursday, March 7th, 2024, the 2024 mock UTME aims to provide candidates with a simulated testing environment to evaluate their preparedness.
It's important to note that participation in the mock exam is voluntary. Scores obtained do not contribute to the main examination, nor is it a prerequisite for sitting the main exam. The primary objective of the mock test is to allow candidates to gauge their readiness and become familiar with the computer-based testing format.
Introduced in 2017, the mock examination was intended to offer all candidates, particularly those less acquainted with computer usage, hands-on experience with the system. Additionally, it serves as a trial run for JAMB to ensure the efficiency of systems across all testing centers and to familiarize CBT centers with proper candidate management protocols for the main exam.
Printing of the 2024 UTME mock exam slips has yet to commence. These slips will detail the exam venue and timing for eligible candidates. Updates regarding the commencement of slip printing will be communicated, and notifications will be sent via the Omni Academy App.
Regardless of whether candidates opt for the mock exam, they can still benefit from a similar experience and achieve similar objectives through the Omni Academy App. The app and software feature an interface akin to what JAMB employs in the main exam. Users can generate mock questions, assess themselves, and gauge their preparedness for the main exam.
As the JAMB mock exam approaches, Omni Academy will provide updates for all candidates, irrespective of their mock exam participation:
- Mock exam slip printing dates and procedures
- Guidelines for candidates during the mock exam
- Mock Live Update: a platform for candidates to share updates before the mock exam, starting from their arrival at the venue
- Mock Experience Update: an opportunity for candidates to share their post-exam experiences, beneficial for those not participating in the mock
- Mock Questions Update: a thread for candidates to share questions encountered during the mock exam, serving as a resource for non-participating candidates.
